UMF® is the registered trademark that licensed packers can put on their Manuka honey. The use of the trademark, guarantees the integrity of the honey products. There is only a small percentage of Manuka honey in New Zealand each year that has the Unique Manuka Factor. Manuka or Tea Tree (Leptospermum scoparium), can only be found in New Zealand.
The UMF® guarantees that the honey you are purchasing has Non Peroxide Activity or NPA.
AS UMF® honey is strictly controlled and audited in a large number of countries worldwide including China, the consumer knows the honey is true to label.
Both UMF® and ordinary Manuka honey is 100% totally natural as produced by the honey bees. There are no additives of any sort in our AENA Honey range. Like all honey, all Manuka honey has some anti-bacteria properties.. UMF® Manuka honey however, has a natural extra something that is effective against a range of bacteria. This natural extra property is stable to both light and heat, unlike the more common anti-bacterial property of Manuka honey. It is this extra natural ingredient which makes the UMF® Manuka honey so effective.
